Now's the Time: Marilyn Maye
Marilyn Maye's roots in Kansas are explored in the embedded 2008 video. Her current engagement at Jardine's concludes with one show on Friday and two sets on Saturday. Maye is worth every penny of the hefty cover charge.

She has a nice voice, beautiful phrasing, and cuts a nice figure but you do realize that hardly anyone young would recognize Johnny Carson right? Seriously... all the audience members you see in the various clips in this video are all grey hairs (from some podunk town in Iowa no less)? And that little boy doesn't really know any better. Us hipsters dont value old people.. they all smell like mothballs and cat pee. She's definitley no Um Kulthuum, that's for certain.
