*I stumbled across this hidden gem at the Phoenix's site while dutifully adding dates to the Kansas City Jazz Calendar: The Roberto Magris Quintet featuring Albert "Tootie" Heath, Logan Richardson, Elisa Pruett and Brandon Lee will perform at the club on December 13. Jazz Carol Fest yesterday at Community Christian Church starring Tim Whitmer, Everette Devan, Rod Fleeman, Angela Hagenbach, Stan Kessler, Jurgen Welge, Millie Edwards, Mama Ray, Marvin Gruenbaum, Jim Mair, James Albright, KC Guitar 4 and others had about 1200 people in the audience. Several standing ovations insued.
Patrons paid $15.00 a pop to attend.

Jazz should be presented in concert settings. You could have heard a pin drop. Lots of young people in the audience as well.

What a great setting for live jazz.
